Solar for churches, temples, mosques and synagogues can be accessible through a solar PPA, providing all the benefits without any of the upfront costs. Many religious buildings are perfect candidates for solar, possessing either ample roof space or large parking lots in which a covered parking array could be installed.
One of the biggest hurdles that churches face when considering solar, however, is that as a nonprofit organization they are ineligible to monetize tax benefits that commercial or residential entities receive. With a PPA, the savings that SCF receives are passed on to the nonprofit through vastly cheaper electricity costs over the course of the term length (15-30 years).
An attractive option for rural hospitals that perhaps own a considerable amount of land around the estate is a ‘mini solar farm’, or ground mount solar array.
